A woman allegedly stabbed another in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Monday during an argument about a broken window, police said today.
The stabbing was reported around 1:30 p.m. in the first block of Nichols Way, according to police.
The incident occurred after the victim, a 30-year-old woman, discovered that windows at her home were broken. A friend told her that a 22-year-old woman, who allegedly has had problems with other residents in the area, had caused the damage, according to police Sgt. Danielle Newman.
When the victim saw the suspect, Rosevette Pickens, 22, of San Francisco, she confronted her and the two started arguing. Pickens then allegedly pulled a knife out of her purse and stabbed the victim in her back, Newman said.
The victim ran into her house and called for help. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.
Pickens allegedly ran away but was found later that day on Northridge Road in the Hunters Point neighborhood. She was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault, Newman said.
