Broken High Rise Window Repaired, Stretch Of Battery Street Reopens

4:13 PM: A street in San Francisco’s Financial District reopened this afternoon after fire crews repaired a broken window on a high-rise building, according to a fire department spokeswoman.

Firefighters received a call at 10:46 a.m. about a window about to fall from the 17th floor of an office building at 275 Battery St.

Crews responded to the scene and authorities shut down the sidewalk and street below the window.

The cracked glass was removed and plywood was put up to secure the window, fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

The street beneath the building reopened around 3 p.m., she said.

Firefighters received a call at 10:46 a.m. about a window about to fall from the 17th floor of an office building at 275 Battery St., fire officials said.

Crews responded to the scene and authorities have shut down the sidewalk and street below the window, officials said.

A man who works on the ninth floor of the building said he tried to exit the building around noon and was told to go out through the back because of a cracked window.

He said at least three fire trucks were parked outside the building and the street was cordoned off.
