Suspect In Polk Gulch Stabbing Still On The Loose

A man was stabbed early Saturday morning after an argument turned physical in San Francisco’s Polk Gulch neighborhood, a police spokesman said today.

The stabbing was reported at 1:04 a.m. Saturday near Polk and Post streets.

The 30-year-old victim and suspect got into the altercation and the victim was stabbed multiple times, police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were initially considered life-threatening, but as of this afternoon he is expected to survive, Esparza said.

The suspect fled east on Post Street and had not been found as of this afternoon. He was described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old who was wearing a black jacket, dark-colored jeans and black gloves, Esparza said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with “SFPD” in the message.
