Suspect Nabbed On Market Street Following Double Shooting

Two people who were injured in a shooting in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district tonight are expected to survive and a suspect is in custody, according to police.

The shooting was reported in the unit block of Turk Street near Taylor Street at about 9:10 p.m., police said.

One victim was shot in the arm and the other was shot in the leg, police said.

Both victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital and are expected to survive their injuries, according to police.

Officers detained and arrested a suspect in the 900 block of Market Street, less than a block from the scene of the shooting, and a firearm was recovered, police said.

A bartender working at the 21 Club, located at 98 Turk St., said he did not see who fired the shots. However, he said that he and the bar patrons heard the gunshots being fired less than half a block away.

The bartender said that despite the shooting the 21 Club was busy tonight following the San Francisco 49ers game.
