SF Couple Pleads Not Guilty To Human Trafficking

Two San Francisco residents have pleaded not guilty to human trafficking and pimping after they were arrested last week at a hotel in Millbrae, the San Mateo County district attorney said this afternoon.

Calvin Williams, 31, and Gwendolyn Samson, 24, were arrested Friday during a multi-agency sting targeting prostitution activities in Millbrae, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

The pair was caught with an alleged prostitute and possible stolen credit cards, Rosenblatt said.

The subject who was identified as a prostitute was released without charges, she said.

Williams has since been charged with one felony count each of human trafficking, pimping and pandering, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. His bail was set at $100,000.

Samson was charged with one felony count each of pimping and pandering, Wagstaffe said. Her bail was set at $25,000.
The two are scheduled to return to San Mateo County Superior Court for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 9.
