SFFD Contains Fire At Sacramento And Locust

Firefighters have contained a three-alarm fire at residential building in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights neighborhood this afternoon, fire officials said.

Fire crews were called to the building near the intersection of Sacramento and Locust streets around 2:32 p.m., fire personnel said.

Firefighters contained the fire around 3:15 p.m., according to a fire dispatcher.

At least a couple of residents were inside the building when the fire broke out, and the American Red Cross was called to provide temporary housing assistance for up to four people, the dispatcher said.

PG&E was also on the scene as of 3:20 p.m. responding to reports of a smell of gas near the building.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
