Holiday Moratorium
Central Subway construction will pause on Stockton Street in Union Square and recommence in January 2014. All Union Square businesses remain open. Stockton Street and Ellis Street will be paved and reopened to traffic by Friday. One lane of Ellis Street between Stockton Street and the Ellis-O’Farrell Garage will remain closed during the holidays due to work related to the Central Subway tunnels.
Men’s Health Urbanathlon
On Sunday, the Urbanathlon 10K race will begin at 7 a.m. from Jefferson Street west of Mason Street and finish at the Marina Green.
Street closures will be required throughout the race area, only major closures are listed below. Local business and residential access will be allowed with possible delays.
From 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
3rd Street between Berry and Channel streets
Terry Francois Boulevard between 3rd Street and Pier 48
From 7 to 8:10 a.m.
The Embarcadero between Washington and Mission streets
From 7:15 to 8:50 a.m.:
Grant Avenue between Vallejo and Chestnut streets
Intersections: Lombard, Chestnut, Francisco, Bay and North Point streets at Grant Avenue
From 7:15 to 8:45 a.m.:
Stockton Street between Greenwich and Beach streets
Intersections: Lombard, Chestnut, Francisco, Bay and North Point streets at Stockton Street
From 7:20 to 9 a.m.:
North Point Street between Powell Street and The Embarcadero
The Embarcadero between Bay and Beach streets
Intersections: Stockton and Kearny streets at The Embarcadero
From 7:20 to 9:50 a.m.:
Jefferson Street between Taylor and Hyde streets
From 7:15 to 10:15 a.m.:
The Little Embarcadero between Taylor and Powell streets
Taylor Street between The Little Embarcadero and Jefferson Street
