New 5 Fulton Service Kicks In

A new limited service is being introduced on San Francisco’s 5 Fulton bus line this morning, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

As part of a pilot project to reduce travel times on the busy line, the 5 Fulton will be replaced by a 5L Fulton Limited service and a 5 Fulton short line on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., officials said.

The limited service will follow the normal 5 Fulton route but make only limited inbound stops between Sixth Avenue and McAllister and Leavenworth streets and outbound between McAllister and Jones streets and Sixth Avenue, officials said.

During the same hours, the short line will run between the Transbay Terminal and Sixth Avenue, making all stops.

Buses will make all stops on the regular 5 Fulton route on weekends, officials said.

Some stops along the 5 Fulton route have been relocated or discontinued. Signs have been posted at stops, and riders can consult sfmta.com for more information.
