A female fell into the water off of San Francisco’s Pier 39 late this morning, a fire spokeswoman said.

The female was reported in the water near the tourist hotspot at 11:34 a.m., fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

Fire crews responded and found the woman holding onto the edge of the pier.

She was pulled out and an ambulance was called to the scene.

She was being assessed at about noon but did not appear to have suffered major injuries in the fall, Talmadge said.
