Firefighters quickly extinguished a one-alarm fire at the San Francisco Coffee Company this afternoon.

The fire was reported at 12:27 p.m. in a large coffee roaster at the coffee wholesaler at 70 13th St. in the city’s South of Market neighborhood, said Jen Balestrieri, an assistant in the San Francisco fire chief’s office.

The small blaze was controlled at 12:41 p.m.

No evacuations were necessary and no injuries were reported, she said.

The Larizadeh family started the company in 1985 and roasted beans in a small 15-pound roaster. The company said on its website it now has a 150-pound roaster and does not use chemicals or solvents in the roasting process.
