Woman Dies After Outer Sunset Fire

A 66-year-old woman died after a fire at her apartment in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood last week, police and fire officials said today.

The one-alarm fire was reported at 6:03 p.m. Thursday at 4350 Kirkham St., which is near 48th Avenue, fire department spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.

The victim was found suffering from second- and third-degree burns and was transported to a hospital, Talmadge said. She later died.

The medical examiner’s office identified her as 66-year-old Sukilena Quin.

Quin lived at the apartment and also operated a business there, Heavenly Art Store. According to the store’s website, Quin sold various artwork as well as gemstones.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, Talmadge said.
