PG&E Staffer Injured During Bayview Repairs

A Pacific Gas and Electric employee received minor injuries Sunday afternoon when a piece of equipment failed during repairs to a transformer in San Francisco’s Bayview neighborhood, a utility spokeswoman said.

The equipment failure occurred around 3:19 p.m. near 39 Bertha Lane, causing an electrical flash, PG&E spokeswoman Jana Morris said. The flash injured an employee, damaged equipment and caused a power outage affecting the surrounding area.

The employee sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The power outage initially affected around 2600 customers.
