Man Beaten Unconscious In Mission District Robbery

A man was beaten unconscious during a robbery in San Francisco’s Mission District early this morning, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 1:50 a.m. near Mission and 22nd streets.

The 46-year-old victim was walking in the area when he was approached from behind by five suspects who began attacking him, according to police.

The man was struck several times in the head, causing him to lose consciousness. When he awoke, the suspects had fled with his wallet and cellphone, police said.

The victim’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The suspects, described only as men in their 20s, had not been found as of this morning, police said.
