Three men were injured in shootings in San Francisco’s Bayview and Bernal Heights neighborhoods this weekend. All three were hospitalized with their injuries. At publication time, no suspects have been arrested in any of the shootings.
The shooting was reported at 2:39 p.m. Saturday at in the Bayview, at the intersection of La Salle Avenue and Garlington Court, near Hilltop Park, according to police.
The 21-year-old victim was standing on the street corner with the large group of people when they heard gunfire, then saw the victim had been shot in the leg, police said.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital and is expected to survive.
The shooter was not seen, and the crime remains under investigation.
Another man was shot while standing on a San Francisco Municipal Railway light-rail platform in the city’s Bayview District on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The 20-year-old man was at a stop on the T-Third line at Third Street and Gilman Avenue at about 12:50 p.m. Saturday when he heard two gunshots, then realized he had been struck, according to police.
The victim went to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, police said.
No information was immediately available about the shooter.
A third man was critically injured in a shooting that occurred during a robbery attempt in San Francisco’s Bernal Heights neighborhood on Saturday night, police said today.
The shooting was reported at 8:19 p.m. in the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard.
The 59-year-old victim was approached by a man who tried to rob him. When the victim tried to flee, he was shot in the torso, according to police.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.
The suspect, who is in his late teens or early 20s, fled and had not been found as of today.
