biden.jpgVice President Joe Biden is in San Francisco today for two campaign events and will also be meeting with local technology leaders, according to White House officials.

Biden will attend two separate events at 11:30 a.m. and 2:15 p.m., both at the Bently Reserve in the city’s Financial District, in support of President Obama’s re-election campaign. The events are closed to the media.

The vice president will also be meeting with tech business leaders at an undisclosed location in the Bay Area this evening to discuss the economy.

The 6 p.m. meeting is part of the Obama administration’s “ongoing dialogue with the business community on working together to strengthen the economy, support entrepreneurship, and put the American people back to work,” the White House said in a statement.

The vice president’s wife, Dr. Jill Biden, will also be in the Bay Area today.

She is visiting wounded soldiers at the VA Palo Alto Polytrauma Rehabilitation Center at 12:30 p.m. and is attending an “Apps for Heroes” event at 2:15 p.m. at Code for America, a nonprofit in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood.

Her visit is part of her Joining Forces initiative with First Lady Michelle Obama. The initiative seeks to recognize, honor and take action to support veterans and military families, according to White House officials.
