police-light-bar1.jpg9:35 AM: A man was taken to a hospital after a crash on the Bay Bridge this morning that involved an AC Transit bus and several other vehicles, California Highway Patrol spokesman Tony Tam said.

The collision, reported just after 6 a.m., blocked two lanes on westbound Interstate Highway 80 on the Bay Bridge’s eastern span.

A 28-year-old Vallejo man driving a Chevrolet Avalanche was transported to Kaiser Permanente Oakland Medical Center, but Tam did not know his condition.

A Nissan Versa and a Ford pickup truck were also involved in the accident, Tam said. No other injuries were reported.

7:11 AM: Traffic heading into San Francisco on the Bay Bridge is backed up this morning due to a four-vehicle crash involving an AC Transit bus and a Chevy Avalanche, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident happened just after 6 a.m. and has blocked two lanes of westbound Interstate Highway 80 on the eastern span of the bridge.

Police and fire officials are on the scene, but it is unknown how long the two lanes of the bridge will be blocked, a CHP officer said.
