From 4 a.m., Saturday to midnight, Sunday, Post Street between Fillmore Street and Laguna Street and Webster Street between Sutter Street and Geary Boulevard will be closed for the Cherry Blossom Festival. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. (Bonus: one of everyone’s fave transit bloggers, Akit, will be volunteering in the food area both days. Stop by and say hello! — EB)

The parade units will gather at Civic Center at 10 a.m. on Sunday for the Cherry Blossom Grand Parade. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. and follow a route from Polk and McAllister streets, north on Polk Street and west on Post Street to disband between Laguna and Fillmore streets.

All intersections along the parade route will remain open except when the parade passes. Streets will reopen as soon as possible after the parade passes and the streets have been cleaned.

The following Muni lines will be directly affected by the parade:

2 Clement 21 Hayes 47 Van Ness

3 Jackson 22 Fillmore 49 Van Ness-Mission

5 Fulton 31 Balboa 76 Marin Headlands

19 Polk 38 Geary

Temporary Transbay Terminal Construction
From 8 p.m., Friday until 2 p.m., Monday, construction work for the Transbay Terminal will require the closure of Folsom Street between 2nd and Essex streets.

The following detours will be required during the demolition:

Eastbound traffic on Folsom Street heading to the Bay Bridge will turn right on 2nd Street, left on Harrison Street and right onto Bay Bridge on-ramp

Eastbound through traffic on Folsom Street will turn left on 2nd Street, right on Mission Street, right on 1st Street and left back to Folsom Street

Signs on 2nd Street and Folsom Street will direct drivers.

The following Muni lines and routes will be affected:

76 Marin Headlands (Sunday Only)
108 Treasure Island
