An employee with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors clerk’s office has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor battery charge for an attack on another city employee at City Hall in July, prosecutors said today.
Renee Craig, 50, who works in the operations division of the clerk’s office, had faced charges of assault, battery and making criminal threats for the incident that occurred around 8 a.m. on July 26 on the second floor of City Hall.
In exchange for the no contest plea, Craig was sentenced to one year of probation, 24 hours of anger management classes and 12 hours of community service and was ordered to stay away from the victim, district attorney’s office spokesman Alex Bastian said.
Craig’s attorney, Randall Knox, was not immediately available to comment on the case this afternoon.
Craig’s employment future with the city will be decided at a Dec. 3 hearing of the city’s Civil Service Commission.
