police-light-bar1.jpg8:48 AM: The California Highway Patrol has reopened Interstate Highway 280 in Daly City this morning following a fatal pedestrian crash.

The crash was reported at around 5:50 a.m. when a pedestrian was fatally struck in the southbound lanes of Highway 280 just north of San Pedro Road., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The roadway was shut down until 8:15 a.m. while emergency officers responded.
The crash remains under investigation.

7:15 AM: The California Highway Patrol, Daly City police and San Francisco police are on the scene of a pedestrian fatality on southbound Interstate Highway 280 this morning, an officer said.

A vehicle or multiple vehicles struck the pedestrian while walking on the roadway at about 5:45 a.m., CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.

The coroner was notified at about 6:10 a.m. and pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene, Anderson said.

I-280 southbound just north of San Pedro Road has been closed during the investigation, but the road is expected to be opened shortly, Anderson said.
