shooting_nighttime.jpgGunshots were fired during a vehicle pursuit and collision in San Francisco early this morning, according to San Francisco police.

Police officers attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop at about 2 a.m. near the intersection of Eddy and Laguna streets in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood.

The suspect vehicle failed to stop and fled south on Laguna Street, according to police.

A police pursuit ensued and the suspects fired gunshots at the officers from inside the suspect vehicle, police said.

The suspects attempted to run a red light at the intersection Of Eddy and Franklin streets in the city’s Van Ness/Civic Center area when a taxi struck their vehicle, according to police.

Police said the suspects then exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Officers were able to apprehend one suspect, however the second suspect remains at large, police said.

The taxi driver sustained injuries not considered life-threatening and no police officers were injured.
