The collision was reported around 2 a.m. at Market Street and Van Ness Avenue.

The pedestrian, a man in his 50s, was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle, according to police.

The man was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening, police said.

No other information about the incident was immediately available, according to police.
