shooting_nighttime.jpgPolice in San Francisco continue to search for suspects who shot a man in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood early this morning.

At about 12:10 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Ellis Street, which is between Powell and Mason, San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza said.

Emergency responders located the victim, who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries, Esparza said. As of this morning he remained in critical condition.

Police believe that as many as three men approached the victim and opened fire, Esparza said.

The suspects fled on foot.

It did not appear to be a robbery, and it had yet to be determined if the victim knew his assailants, he said.

The case remains under investigation.
