A thief grabbed money right out of the hand of a liquor store clerk in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Wednesday night, police said Thursday.

The robbery was reported at 9:13 p.m. in the 700 block of Polk Street, which is near Eddy.

The 25-year-old victim was behind the counter holding cash when the suspect reached over, grabbed the money and ran out of the store, according to police.

The suspect, described as a man in his mid-20s, fled in a silver or gray four-door 1990s-era Pontiac and had not been found as of this morning, police said.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
