sffd_officials.jpgFirefighters extinguished a small blaze at a construction site in San Francisco’s Mission District this morning.

The one-alarm fire was reported at 8:45 a.m. at 40 Lapidge St., which is between 18th and 18th Streets.

Workers on a roof under construction tried to extinguish the flames but were unable to do so. Firefighters responded and had the fire under control by 9:12 a.m., according to fire officials.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
