The California Public Utilities Commission will hold a hearing in San Bruno this evening to get public input on developing new rules for the operation of natural gas pipelines in California.
The meeting will take place at the San Bruno Senior Center, near the Glenview neighborhood where a PG&E gas transmission line exploded on Sept. 9, 2010, killing eight people and destroying 38 homes.
Tonight’s hearing, which starts at 5 p.m. at the center, located at 1555 Crystal Springs Road, is the first of three such hearings scheduled to take place around the state.
CPUC commissioners will solicit public input on several aspects of natural gas pipeline operations, including safety, construction, maintenance, record keeping and ratemaking.
