police-light-bar1.jpgAn elderly woman was critically injured when she was struck by a vehicle on San Francisco’s Van Ness Avenue late Thursday night, a police spokesman said today.

The crash was reported at about 11:40 p.m. at the intersection of Van Ness Avenue and Vallejo Street.

The 80-year-old woman was crossing the street when she was struck by the vehicle. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with head, arm and leg injuries that are considered life-threatening, police spokesman Sgt. Daryl Fong said.

Fong did not immediately have more information about the crash this morning.
