sfpd_squad.jpgA woman was shot in the leg while trying to break up a fight in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Monday night, police said today.

The shooting was reported at about 6:50 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Third Street and Quesada Avenue.

The 49-year-old victim tried to break up an argument between the suspect and someone else. The suspect then pulled out a gun and fired it once, striking the victim in the right leg, according to police.

The suspect, described as a woman in her mid 30s, then fled in a green vehicle. She had not been found as of this morning, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not considered life-threatening, according to police.
