Oakland-Raiders-Logo.gifOakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey is set to be arraigned Thursday in San Francisco Superior Court in connection with a misdemeanor DUI case from last month, prosecutors said.

Heyward-Bey, 25, was pulled over at about 2 a.m. on April 7 while driving east on the lower deck of the Bay Bridge.

He was driving a 2012 Range Rover and was observed going slightly above the speed limit and weaving, California Highway Patrol officials said.

An officer pulled Heyward-Bey over and arrested him on suspicion of DUI after he submitted to a chemical test. He was cited and later released, according to the CHP.

Heyward-Bey has been charged with misdemeanor DUI and having a blood-alcohol content above .08, according to the district attorney’s office.

His defense attorney, Ivan Golde, said earlier this month that his client plans to plead not guilty to the charges.

Heyward-Bey has played in the NFL for three years, all with the Raiders, who drafted him seventh overall in the 2009 draft.

Last season he caught 64 passes for 965 yards and four touchdowns, all career highs.
