police-light-bar1.jpgInvestigators are still still investigating two car fires that sprang up in Golden Gate Park Saturday night, in an effort to determine of the two blazes were coincidence, or somehow connected. One possible clue: both vehicles had ties to San Francisco’s Recreation and Parks Department.

As previously reported, a fire dispatcher confirmed that the first fire was discovered at 8:23 PM behind the amphitheater.

According to ABC7, this car was a Honda belonging to a Recreation and Parks employee.

The second fire was reported at 10:03 PM, in a parking lot between Kezar stadium and SFPD’s Park station.

According to ABC7, an SFPD officer reported seeing an explosion lift the vehicle, a Recreation and Parks truck, into the air.

Have any information on either of the two blazes? You can always call the Police Department’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
