A man was punched in the eye and robbed in San Francisco’s Mission District early this morning, police said.

The robbery was reported around 12:10 a.m. in the 2100 block of Mission Street.

The 39-year-old victim was walking south on Mission Street when a suspect approached and demanded money, then punched the victim, according to police.

When the victim fell to the ground, the suspect reached down into his pocket and stole his cash before fleeing, police said.

The suspect, a man around 30 years old, had not been found as of this morning.

The victim refused to be taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
