wave.jpgThe National Weather Service has issued a high surf advisory for the Bay Area from 5 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Friday.

Forecasters predict swells of between 15 and 18 feet that will increase rapidly, with the largest swells occurring overnight.

The conditions are expected to produce strong rip currents, and minor coastal flooding is possible.
