A man charged with the murder of a woman at a residential hotel in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood earlier this month pleaded not guilty to the charge today.
A man charged with the murder of a woman at a residential hotel in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood earlier this month pleaded not guilty to the charge today.
Rodney Pool, 59, is accused of killing Rebekah Wilson, 37, who was found dead shortly before 7 p.m. on Feb. 2 at the Windsor Hotel at 20 Sixth St.
The medical examiner’s office on Feb. 8 ruled Wilson’s death a homicide and Pool was arrested later that day, police said.
Authorities have not yet released the cause of her death.
Pool appeared briefly in court today and did not speak, but shook his head as the charge against him was read by San Francisco Superior Court Judge Samuel Feng.
His attorney Matt Gonzalez, chief attorney with the public defender’s office, entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of his client, who was ordered held on $2 million bail.
Pool will return to court on April 4 for a status hearing.
Gonzalez declined to comment on the case outside of court today.
