A San Francisco resident who responded to a Craigslist ad from someone claiming to be selling an iPhone was robbed at gunpoint in Concord early this morning, Concord police Cpl. James Carroll said.
The victim reported the robbery shortly after 1:10 a.m.
He told officers he had arranged to meet the man purporting to be selling the iPhone at an apartment complex at 1521 Mendocino Drive and went to the area with two friends, Carroll said.
Instead of selling him the phone, the suspect robbed the victim at gunpoint of about $440 and then fled through the apartment complex.
The robber was described as a black man in his 20s about 6 feet tall with a thin build. He had a mole under one eye and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, Carroll said.
Officers searched the area, but didn’t find the suspect.
The victim’s friends were not robbed.
