11/18 9:31 AM:A disabled woman suffered life-threatening injuries in a house fire in San Francisco’s Mission Terrace neighborhood on Wednesday night, a fire department spokeswoman said today.
The two-alarm fire was reported at 8:29 p.m. at a two-story home at 160 Santa Rosa Ave., fire spokeswoman Mindy Talmadge said.
Firefighters arrived and found flames and smoke coming from the garage and front door of the home, and were told there was a disabled woman upstairs, Talmadge said.
The crews “did a fantastic job” confining the blaze to the garage then going upstairs and rescuing the woman, Talmadge said.
The victim suffered smoke inhalation and was taken to a hospital.
Her injuries are considered life-threatening, according to Talmadge.
Two other people also suffered minor smoke inhalation, she said.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze at 9 p.m.
The fire caused more than $600,000 in damage–about $535,000 to the structure of the home and about $85,000 to its contents, Talmadge said.
Two people have been displaced.
The cause remains under investigation, she said.

11/17 9:50 PM: Firefighters battled a two-alarm structure fire in a San Francisco neighborhood Wednesday night and one person was taken to a hospital with injuries.
Fire crews responded to the blaze at 160 Santa Rosa Ave. at 8:30 p.m. and had the fire under control by 9:01 p.m., according to a fire dispatcher.
One person was hospitalized and the extent of injuries was not immediately known, the dispatcher said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
