What is the record number of homicides in a month in SF?

We’re up to 17 homicides in SF for the year — as a comparison, we had 9 homicides this time in 2010. But the record number of homicides in a single month is more than we’ve had in the past three months together: 20 homicides in November of 2005, according to the SFPD. There were 96 homicides in 2005, total.

Don’t really know how to end this post. At least things aren’t as bad as they were six years ago? At least things aren’t as bad, yet? Anyway, check out this 2005 SF Chronicle article if you want to learn more.
