policeblotter_sfa.jpgAs Mission Mission first reported, police are seeking “witnesses to a gay bashing outside of Taqueria Cancun” that occurred early Saturday morning.

According to the Ex a group of five men jumped the three victims as they waited outside the popular Mission Street taqueria Saturday at 12:30 AM.

“One of the suspects uttered something about it being their neighborhood and why were these other men there,” SFPD spokesperson Sgt. Michael Andraychak told the Ex. “Then they used a homophobic statement to describe the four gentlemen.”

According to victims, their assailants yelled “get out of our neighborhood, faggot,” as they continued “to stomp on (one victim’s) head as he was unconscious.” That 25-year-old victim was, according to police and a friend of the victims, taken to SF General with head trauma and a broken jaw, for which he’s expected to undergo surgery today. Two other men received minor injuries in the attack.

According to the Ex, “The suspects fled in a dark-colored American-made sport utility vehicle. They were described by police as men in their 20s to early 30s.”

As always, witnesses or those with information are urged to call the SFPD’s anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip by text message to TIP411.
