policeblotter_sfa.jpgA man was critically injured in a brutal beating in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood on Friday night, police said.

The attack was reported at 8:46 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Ellis Street.

Officers responded and found the 61-year-old victim unconscious and bleeding from a large cut to his head, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are considered life-threatening.

The suspect, believed to be a man in his mid- to late 40s, had not been found as of this morning, police said.
