Two people were arrested on suspicion of shooting at a man and slicing the hand of a teenage girl with a knife at a home in San Francisco’s Bayview District on Saturday night, police said.
The incident began at about 8 p.m. Saturday at a home in the 100 block of Cameron Way, where a 17-year-old girl was home alone with a 9-year-old and opened a back door to ventilate the home, according to police.
A short time later, seven people, some of whom the girl knew from the neighborhood, walked into the house and began to play video games on the family’s PlayStation 3 console, police said.
The girl tried to get the suspects to leave but they refused, and when the argument escalated, one of the intruders grabbed a knife from the kitchen and attacked her, causing defensive cuts to her hands, according to police.
The adults who live at the home then got back from a trip, saw the suspects running out the back door and found the girl bleeding and the game console missing.
As the suspects fled, one picked up a garbage can and threw it through a window of the home, shattering the glass, police said.
When one of the residents, a 50-year-old man, went outside to clean up the broken glass, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot at him several times but missed, according to police.
Officers responded to the scene but the intruders had already fled. However, after interviewing the witnesses, police were able to identify the suspects, who were already wanted for separate crimes.
At about 9:50 a.m. Sunday, police arrested the alleged shooter, who was staying at a home near the intersection of Oakdale Avenue and Ingalls Street and surrendered peacefully. He was booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault and weapons charges.
Less than two hours later, police conducting a traffic stop arrested “Junk,” the suspected head of the “2Rock” gang in the neighborhood who had allegedly sliced the girl.
The traffic stop occurred at about 11:30 a.m. near the intersection of Cameron and Nichols Way, where “Junk” was immediately identified by the officers as the suspected stabber and arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault charges and a parole violation.
