sfpd_gunpoint.jpgOfficers found two people wounded after hearing gunshots in the South of Market neighborhood early Saturday morning, police officials said.

Police responded to 6th and Minna streets at 2:17 a.m. and found the two victims among a quickly dispersing crowd.

A 43-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were taken to San Francisco General Hospital and were listed in serious but stable condition, San Francisco police spokesman Carlos Manfredi said.

The 15-year-old Hispanic girl suffered gunshots to her legs and the 43-year-old black woman was shot in her torso and leg.

The suspected shooter is either a Hispanic or white male that fled on foot and later escaped in a silver sedan, Manfredi said.

No arrests have been made and no weapon has been recovered.

Investigators are going through video surveillance tape from several locations to try to identify the suspect, Manfredi said.

It is unknown if the victims were the intended targets.
