taxi.jpgA taxi driver was robbed at gunpoint in San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood late Thursday night, police said.

The robbery was reported at about 11 p.m. near the intersection of O’Farrell and Beideman streets.

The 56-year-old driver picked up the suspect at the intersection of 18th and Castro streets, and after the brief drive, the suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded money, according to police.

The victim handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the robber, who got out of the taxi and ran away, police said.

The victim was not injured during the robbery.
