ol.2011.lede.dayone.jpgAs previously reported, about a dozen people were arrested for being a bit too “silly” at Outside Lands. One, however, was caught committing a more serious crime: trying to resell wristbands. Though the crime of slipping a strip of fancily-decorated fabric off your wrist and onto another’s doesn’t seem like too big of a crime, the theft of nearly $4,000 worth of these babies is.

As the Ex reports, an 29-year-old Shawheen Younai of LA faces felony charges for the theft of an envelope of wristbands, ranging in value from $100 to $600. The man was allegedly selling them for only $50 each.

The wristbands were intended for musicians, guests of artists, vendors, and those with backstage access. Another Planet Entertainment, who organizes the annual fest in Golden Gate Park, filed a police report the same day that the theft occurred, citing a missing envelope of wristbands that was taken from the box office.

Shortly thereafter, Outside Lands security came upon Younal as he allegedly sold the VIP passes. He was arrested and booked for second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
