Oh Bay Area, it’s been a bit since we’ve had someone to be proud of appearing on reality TV. Trying to make good on Big Brother, one of the most consistently controversial reality shows out there, is SF State student Dominic Briones as CBS 5 reports.

Born in Redwood City, Briones is majoring in biochemistry at SF State, and is also a model; two things that apparently go hand in hand.

Says casting producer Cassie Rubino, “From the moment I met him I knew he was something special. He was charming, funny and had a smile on his face the entire time we talked. He stood out for all the right reasons, and I cannot wait to see how he does in the house!”

Ouch. Given the fact that recent seasons of Big Brother include lax censorship, anti-Semitic comments, violent outbursts, and winnings spent on rather large drug operations, standing out for “all the right reasons” is a pretty damning statement.

The 25-year-old says his biggest fear is sharing a bathroom with 12 other people, as before now he’s always lived with his parents. Good thing he’s never heard of the Real World: New Orleans’ peeing-on-a-toothbrush incident.

His bio details his fears of STDs and his strayegy for BB success: “I don’t want to be too strong too soon. Flying under the radar in the beginning is key.”

“I’d say like two or three weeks in, once I start getting a feel for what alliance I want to make, I’ll make a power move,” he tells Zap2It. In other words, skip the first three episodes. Fellow cast members take note, Briones’ gameplan is right in front of you!

Big Brother’s latest season (the 13th, really) premiered last night on CBS. Catch it Wednesdays at 8pm, Thursdays at 9pm, and Sundays at 8pm.
