A car that was allegedly used to kidnap a woman from Louisiana and drive her to San Francisco has been found, but investigators are still seeking the suspected abductor, a police spokesman said today.
The woman was dumped out of a 2007 black Ford Fusion and a nearby security guard called police.
She told authorities she had been kidnapped from a laundromat in Monroe, La., on Wednesday and driven across the country to San Francisco.
The suspect, a white man in his 40s or 50s, fled in the car, which was later found and impounded, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The man remains on the loose though, and Esparza said the car is being processed for evidence that may help investigators identify him.
San Francisco police are collaborating with authorities in Louisiana on the case, he said.
