police-light-bar1.jpgSouthbound lanes of Interstate 280 reopened at 2:55 a.m. today after San Francisco firefighters and the California Highway Patrol responded to a fiery two car collision near Cesar Chavez, a CHP officer said.

The fire, which engulfed both vehicles, was reported at 2:06 a.m., CHP Officer Scott Cakebread said.

It was not known if there were any injuries as of 4 a.m.
