An alleged gang member with a criminal history was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of selling cocaine in Antioch, according to police.
Cedric Mccroey, 21, was found in a house on Magnolia Way on Tuesday, and a search of the house revealed he had about half an ounce of rock cocaine for sale, police said.
Cedric, along with Corey Mccroey, 21, and 19-year-old Alfonzo Beasley are believed to be members of the San Francisco gang “Towerside,” police said.
The three were accused of stealing a car and a robbery that was unrelated to the carjacking in August 2010, police said.
Police arrested Corey Mccroey and Alfonso Beasley after the alleged carjacking, but Cedric evaded arrest until Tuesday, police said.
All three remain in custody at an undisclosed location. They face charges of carjacking, robbery, and participating in a street gang.
Before his arrest, Cedric Mccroey also had an outstanding warrant in San Francisco County for possession of an assault rifle. A police officer was unable to say if the rifle was recovered.
Beasley is the prime suspect in the shooting death of Luis Straiten.
Straiten, who was 16 when he was killed, was shot at about 10:25 p.m. at 4200 Lone Tree Way in Antioch on March 16, 2007.
Straiten’s death prompted police to implement an earlier curfew for minors.
The curfew, effective for 45 days the same month, meant businesses had to close their doors to juveniles after 11 p.m. The cinema, for example, wasn’t allowed to sell movie tickets to juveniles for movies that end after 11 p.m.
Beasley’s involvement in the alleged murder is still ongoing, police said.
