For one San Franciscan, all their holiday dreams are about to come true. A winning ticket for Wednesday night’s Fantasy 5 draw worth nearly $292,000 was purchased at a San Francisco gas station, the California Lottery announced.
The ticket that matched all five of the numbers in the draw was purchased at a Chevron gas station located at the corner of Geary and Arguello boulevards.
The winning combination was 24, 2, 23, 21, and 25, and the ticket is worth $291,989.
According to the state lottery, Fantasy 5 offers some of the best odds of any California Lottery game. Winning numbers are drawn every day for the top prize that starts at $50,000 and increases daily until a winner is picked.
Winners have six months to claim their prize before it expires, and can do so by visiting the local district office in Hayward or by contacting lottery officials.
To safeguard tickets against theft, they should be signed and kept in a safe place.
Tickets can be purchased from any of the more than 21,000 lottery retailers. More than 94 cents of every dollar spent on tickets goes back to the community in the form of education.
Since 2000, lottery players have contributed $1 billion to public schools each year. According to lottery officials, more than $23 billion has been contributed since 1985.
