A ground delay program will be in effect throughout the day today for all inbound flights to the San Francisco International Airport due to forecasted wet and windy weather, an airport duty manager said.
The delays are expected to add up to hour-long waits for inbound flights, SFO Airport Duty Manager Linda Perry said. This is likely to subsequently delay departing flights as well, she said.
“If the inbound airplane is late, the departure might be late, but it’s not because of the weather,” Perry said. “We slow down the arrival rate.”
