earthquake.jpgThe U.S. Geological Survey is reporting an earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 2.2 struck early this morning in Santa Cruz County.

According to the USGS, the tremor rattled an area of Castle Rock State Park six miles north of Boulder Creek at 3:23 a.m.

The quake was centered near Kings Creek and Skyline roads south of the San Andreas fault zone, and had a depth of 7.6 miles, according to the USGS.
