Oracle World Closures

Please see this piece for traffic and transit impacts that start on Thursday, Sept. 16 due to Oracle Open World, which will occur at the Moscone Center from Sunday, Sept. 19 through Thursday, Sept. 23 and the Java One conference that will be held at the Parc 55, San Francisco Hilton and the Hotel Nikko during this time.

Transbay Terminal Construction
From 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday, construction at the Transbay Terminal will require the closure of Beale Street between Mission and Howard streets.

The following Muni routes will be affected

· 71 Haight-Noriega

Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival
The Chinatown Autumn Moon Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

The following street closures will be required from 12:01 a.m., Saturday to 8 p.m., Sunday
· Grant Avenue from California Street to Broadway
· Washington Street from Wentworth Street to Stockton Street
· Commercial Street from Kearny Street to Grant Avenue
· Pacific Avenue from Kearny Street to Stockton Street
· Waverly Place from Washington Street to Clay Street
· Intersections: Pacific and Grant, Washington and Grant, Waverly and Washington, Ross and Washington, Wentworth and Washington, Becket and Pacific

The 10 Townsend and the 12 Folsom-Pacific Muni routes will reroute from 11 p.m., Friday until 8 p.m., Sunday. The 1 California may also be affected by congestion around the festival.

Roadworks
On Sunday, the Roadworks street fair will be held from noon to 5 p.m. and require the closure of Rhode Island Street between 16th and 17th streets from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The following Muni routes will be affected

Comedy Day
On Sunday Comedy Day will be held from noon to 5 p.m. in Sharon Meadow, Golden Gate Park.

Muni routes serving the eastern end of the Park will be heavily traveled.

Sunday Streets Western Addition
The eighth of nine Sunday Streets events will be held this Sunday in the Western Addition, North Panhandle, Fillmore and Japantown neighborhoods. This event covers a 2.5-mile route that connects the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park, with the Farmer’s Market on Grove Street, Kimball Playground on O’Farrell, Peace Plaza in Japantown and the Lower Fillmore merchant corridor. The route will be available for recreational activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is free to all participants.

The headquarters for the event will be located at the Panhandle on Fell Street between Central Avenue and Baker Street, where participants can get details about activities along the event route as well as free bike rentals.

The following street closures will be required from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
· Golden Gate Avenue between Baker and Laguna streets
· Laguna Street between Golden Gate Avenue and Turk Street
· Fillmore Street between Golden Gate Avenue and Post Street
· Post Street between Fillmore and Buchanan streets
· O’Farrell Street between Fillmore and Steiner streets
· Baker Street between Grove Street and Golden Gate Avenue
· Grove Street between Central Avenue and Broderick Street
· Central Avenue between Fell and Grove streets
· Intersections: Fillmore Street at Post Street, Golden Gate Avenue and O’Farrell Street; Golden Gate Avenue at Laguna and Baker streets; and Grove Street at Baker Street and Central Avenue.

Traffic will be controlled by Parking Control Officers and San Francisco police officers.

49ers Football Game
The San Francisco 49ers will host their first home game of the regular season on Monday against the New Orleans Saints starting at 5:30 p.m. at Candlestick Park.

Motorists should expect delays on all bridges and freeways leading into San Francisco for at least two hours before the start of the game and for at least two hours after the end of the game. Fans attending the games are encouraged to take public transportation. For more information, go to www.sfmta.com/football.

On game days, Muni offers several ways to get to Candlestick Park from throughout San Francisco. There are four Muni Express routes and two Shuttles.

The Muni Express route is Special Event Fare Service with an adult fare of $10 roundtrip and a youth/senior/disabled fare of $9 roundtrip. The Special Event fare with a Muni or CityPass is $7.

The Candlestick Shuttles are regular fare service, $2 adult cash fare per trip and $.75 for youth/senior/disabled cash fare per trip. All Muni customers who pay cash fare should be sure to ask for a transfer as proof of payment. Please go to www.sfmta.com for fare details.

For service to and from the game, T Third customers should transfer at the Gilman/Paul station to the 87 Candlestick Shuttle, which operates directly between the station and Candlestick Park.
