Here’s a bunch of post Prop 8 decision stuff we wanted to make sure you saw. None of this seemed to merit a piece on their own without a lot of fluffing, so before our browser crashes and we lose these tabs completely (damn you, reruns of Supernatural on CW.com), here you go.

Before heading out to Tuesday night’s rally, I was watching NBC’s mid-protest reporting “via skype.” The reporter was on webcam, the jerkiness suggested, and as opposed to being miced he was holding a cell phone to his ear. Did they enter into an infernal, Oprahesque deal with the internet phone service providers? I wondered. Well, no, it was just a workaround. Did you watch it? Did it work for you?
Speaking of watching the coverage, we got a couple of emails asserting that KTVU didn’t cut away from the episode of Maury they were running Tuesday morning to announce the Court’s decision. (The sentiment in those emails was generally Fox is evil, local affiliate is no exception, etc.) We emailed Ed Chapuis, their News Director, who said, “Your reader(s are) incorrect. We did break into programming and announced the decision.” So, there you have it: Maury, interrupted.
Appeal staffer and Stop8.org organizer Matt Baume sent us the above picture, saying “I just randomly happened to get a photo of Paul Hill, one of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit” filed with the state Supreme Court over the constitutionality of Prop 8.”
Back in June, 2008, Paul’s husband, Brad Akin, told the Chronicle he had always told their then-17-year-old daughter “I would marry her father the first minute I could.” Hill and Akin, who had also married in 2004 before those marriages were invalidated, were among the first same sex Californians to marry, on June 16, 2008.
